Merchandise Product Development Portfolio Samples

In 2008 I graduated from FIDM with honors in Merchandise Product Development.  I am always open to new job opportunities in this area and I always try to blend my love for visual art into my garments’ overall design. My creative process is innovative and versatile and I tend to learn skills quickly.  I love to work in teams to best translate a companies overall message.

Here are some of my portfolio samples of the a theme I created called “Organic Antique.” The theme is about the feeling a subject evokes when it spends many life-cycles exposed to the natural elements. Deteriorating layers are translated with lace material and burnout prints. The hand of the garments are extremely soft like the colorful mold that takes over a mature fruit. The garments achieve this softness with organic knits and wovens that are approved as the best quality fabric to express this soft, fuzzy hand. The color story reflects the organic colors in nature. For this theme, the more raw, natural and organic everything is in production, the better it is for the environment.  Research now shows innovative designers actually growing organic patters from fungi on to apparel, which also inspired the over all theme.
